PITTSBURGH, Pa. - For the second straight week Villanova has had a Friday afternoon BIG EAST series opener postponed due to rain. The team is in Pittsburgh this weekend and the Wildcats will play a doubleheader against the Panthers on Saturday starting at 1 p.m.

Both ends of Saturday's doubleheader will be nine-inning games, and the series will still conclude with Sunday's regularly scheduled Noon contest. Steady rain fell throughout the afternoon on Friday and there remained a chance for additional rain later in the day.

Despite the inclement weather Villanova was able to take a full round of batting practice in the indoor cages at the Petersen Sports Complex on Friday afternoon. The team arrived in Pittsburgh on Thursday and held a full practice on Charles L. Cost Field on Thursday evening.
