Villanova took on local rival Saint Joseph's on March 21, 2017 in Merion Station, Pa.

On Lilly: Elite defender at shortstop who solidifies the Wildcats defense up the middle ... Gained a great amount of experience as a freshman last season and should continue to evolve into one of the team's most dependable performers this season ... Still has a wealth of potential and should be one of the team's players to watch during the 2018 campaign.

2017: Started all 45 games that he played in and was the team's shortstop as a true freshman ... Batted .196 (29-for-148) on the year with a .270 on-base percentage and a .243 slugging percentage ... Had 15 runs scored and 14 runs batted in while totaling four doubles and hitting a home run ... Drew 11 walks, was hit by a pitch four times and struck out 50 times ... Had three sacrifice bunts to tie for the team lead and stole two bases without getting caught ... Tallied five multi-hit games ... Doubled and was hit by a pitch in his collegiate debut at Norfolk State ... Had two hits, including a double, against Penn ... Quickly established himself as one of the top defensive shortstops in the region ... Compiled a .973 fielding percentage for the season with 81 putouts, 134 assists and only six errors in 221 total chances ... Was a part of 27 double plays; BIG EAST: Started all 18 conference games at shortstop and batted .186 (11-for-59) with a .238 on-base percentage ...
