2017: Appeared in 14 games with one start ... Went 2-1 with one save and a 3.75 ERA ... Held opponents to a .236 batting average against him and did not surrender a home run to 105 batters faced ... Logged 24.0 innings and allowed 21 hits, while giving up 13 runs (10 earned), walking 14 and recording 17 strikeouts ... Registered six relief outings of two innings or more ... Put together a streak of 9 1/3 scoreless innings over three appearances from April 5-15 ... That stretch began with pitching a season-high 3 2/3 innings of scoreless relief against Rutgers ... Gave up just one hit and struck out two in that outing to earn his first collegiate victory; BIG EAST: Pitched in four conference games and was 1-0 with one save, a 2.08 ERA and a 0.81 WHIP in 8 2/3 innings ... Personal: Born 11/20/97 in Deerfield, Ill. ... Older of two sons of George and Rachel Pfutzenreuter ... Has a younger brother, Robert (17) ... Enjoys playing video games and is a fan of the TV show It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia ... Considers himself a fan of all sports ... Chose to attend Villanova because it was a great school academically, and also noted the coaching staff, new facilities and level of on-field talent as selling points of the baseball program ... Enrolled in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences and has yet to declare a major.
