PRINCETON, N.J. - After a third place finish at the Mid-Atlantic Regional, the Villanova men's cross country team earned a berth to the NCAA Championships for the second consecutive year as announced on Sunday evening.

The Wildcats finished with 84 points behind Georgetown (27 points) and Penn State (73 points). Princeton finished in fourth place.

Sophomore Hugo Beamish crossed the finish line in 31:37 in the 10K for second place and will qualify to run as an individual at the NCAA Championships.

Sophomore Ben Guest clocked in at 32:49 and finished 16th overall, while sophomore Keith Capecci and junior Daniel Lewis were right behind him crossing the line in 32:52 and 32:55 respectively. Capecci was 18th and Lewis was 19th overall. Rounding out Villanova's top five runners was senior Steven Curley who finished 29th with a time of 33:19.

"The team ran really well today," head coach Marcus O'Sullivan said. "I am really proud of them. It was a very close race and now we will just have to wait until Monday to see if we receive an at-large bid. Overall it was a good race for us."

With their top 25 finishes, Beamish, Guest, Capecci and Lewis were named to the All-Mid-Atlantic Region team.

The Wildcats will compete in the NCAA Championships on Monday, Nov. 24 in Terre Haute, Ind.
