VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova women's cross country team moved up seven spots to No. 6 in the USTFCCCA Coaches Poll, revealed on Tuesday afternoon.

The Wildcats entered the weekend at the Pre-National meet in Terre Haute, Ind., ranked No. 13 in the nation, but a second place team finish saw them defeat three Top-10 squads. Villanova finished ahead of then-No. 4 Minnesota, then-No. 9 Michigan State and then-No. 6 Stanford. No. 1 Washington won the meet.

Villanova is one of four ranked teams in the BIG EAST, behind West Virginia, who is the conference's highest ranked squad at No. 5. Georgetown and Providence are also ranked, while Syracuse is receiving votes in the poll.

The Wildcats will next run in the BIG EAST Championships at Van Cortlandt Park, N.Y. on Oct. 31.
