Villanova Cross Country Competes in Virginia Panorama Farms Invitational

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The No. 2 women's and No. 24 men's cross country squads will be in action on Friday, Oct. 16 at the Panorama Farms Invitational hosted by the University of Virginia.

The women will run a 6K that is set to begin at 4:00 p.m. followed by the men's 8K at 4:45 p.m. Both races will be held at Panorama Farms, just six miles from the UVA campus.

In their last outing, the women won the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Oregon and jumped to No. 2 in the country after knocking off several ranked opponents. They were led by junior Sheila Reid, who won the meet in a new course record and earned BIG EAST Cross Country Athlete of the Week accolades.

The men finished fifth at the Bill Dellinger Invitational, also finishing ahead of ranked opponents, and vaulted to No. 24 in the USTFCCCA coaches poll. They were led by junior Hugo Beamish who finished fifth overall.

American, Duke, North Carolina, Richmond, Tennessee, Texas A&M and Virginia will also be competing. In the women's poll Virginia is ranked No. 10, while Duke is No. 14. In the men's poll Virginia is No. 15 and Duke is No. 26.
