TERRE HAUTE, Ind. - After setting two course records and claiming an individual title at the Paul Short Invitational, senior standout Bobby Curtis once again turned out a terrific performance to place a remarkable second at the Pre-NCAA meet in Terre Haute, Ind. earlier today. Curtis clocked in at 14:34 for the 8K race to finish just nine seconds behind race winner Lopez Lomong of Northern Arizona.
"Bobby is running great right now," says Villanova head coach Marcus O'Sullivan. "He is on pace to have a terrific rest of the season."
Although Curtis ranked high in today's event, the team as a whole found themselves finish at a disappointing 17th. Despite their best efforts, the competition proved to be stronger than the Wildcats on this day.
"Although we finished 17th, we are still right where we need to be as a team as we close in on the remainder of the season," adds O'Sullivan.
