VILLANOVA, Pa, - The Villanova men's and women's cross country squads are ready to run in the Annual Paul Short Invitational hosted by Lehigh University. The men's 8K race will begin on Friday, Oct. 3 at 11:00 a.m., while the women will run a 6K race beginning at 11:45 a.m.

The men's team enters the race ranked no. 25 in the nation and has won back-to-back team titles in the two previous years. The Wildcats will face tough competition on the course against several ranked opponents. Iona is no. 4 in the nation, Wisconsin comes in at no. 6 and Syracuse is no. 30.

The Villanova women enter the Paul Short Run receiving votes in the national poll. Last time out the Wildcats finished second in the Old Nassau Run held on Sept. 13. Junior Kaitlyn Tallman and sophomore Amanda Marino were the squad's top finishers, crossing the finish line in third and eighth place respectively.
