BRUSSELS - On Saturday, March 20th, Villanova senior Ryan Hayden and former Wildcat star and current women's assistant coach Carmen Douma Hussar competed at the World Cross Country Championships in Brussels. Both competed for their native country Canada at the championships.

Douma Hussar placed 17th with a time of 13:41 on the short course in the women's competition. She was only 34 seconds behind the winner Masai Edith of KEN (13:07).

Hayden placed 52nd (12:26) on the short course (4km) in the men's competition, as he finished only 55 seconds back from the winner Bekele Kenenisa of ETH who ran a time of 11:31 .
