Villanova Men's and Women's Cross Country Teams Compete in the NCAA Championships

Terre Haute, In. - The Villanova University men's and women's cross country teams competed in the NCAA championships on Monday, November 25 at Indiana State University. The Wildcat women's team finished in eighth place overall, while the men's team placed in 12th in the team standings. Prior to the NCAA championships both the men and women's teams competed in the Mid-Atlantic Regional race where the men finished first overall and the women second. The Wildcat women were paced by Marina Muncan and Ioana Parusheva who placed 24th and 30th respectively. Muncan posted a time of 20:33.4, while Parusheva clocked in at 20:38.9. Also finishing for the 'Cats were Kalin Toedebusch (21:00.1) who finished 48th, Rebecca Mitchell (21:08.8) in 62nd, Elizabeth Gesel (21:24.5) in 92nd. Rounding out the finishers for Villanova were Carre Joyce (22:13.7) and Kirsty Smith (22:24.9) who finished 181st and 191st respectively.
On the men's side the Wildcats were led by Adrian Blincoe who finished 32nd with a time of 30:30.7. Also finishing in the top 50 runners was Jonathan Fasulo who posted a time of 30:43.8 for 46th place. Ryan Hayden placed 97th with a time of 31:19.5, while Patrick Dunn finished just behind in 99th place crossing the line in 31:20.8. Rounding out the men's finishers was Marc Pelerin in 124th (31:41.3), Thomas Parlapiano in 128th (31:44.4), and Jason Jabaut in 183rd (32:41.7).
