SPRINGFIELD, Ore. - The No. 5 Villanova women's cross country squad earned a huge victory at the Bill Dellinger Invitational in Springfield, Ore. Friday evening. The Wildcats scored 22 points, far surpassing No. 2 ranked Oregon who tallied 41 points. No. 14 Baylor finished in third.

Villanova dominated the Springfield Country Club course with five runners finishing in the top 10. They were led by junior Sheila Reid who set a new course record and won the meet finishing in 16.22.92.

"The team ran great today," said head coach Gina Procaccio. "It was a huge win for us and I am really proud."

Junior Amanda Marino and senior Nicole Schappert finished as the third and fourth collegiate respectively. Marino clocked in at 16.30.76, while Schappert was right behind her to cross the finish line in 16.33.82.

Sophomore Bogdana Mimic was the sixth collegiate to cross the finish line as she posted a time of 16:41.18. Senior Kaitlyn Tallman notched the eighth spot in 16:49.11.

The Wildcats will be back in action on Oct. 16 at the University of Virginia Invitational.
