One of the top cross country runners in the nation, Koons will be looking to lead the team to success at the conference and national levels.
2008- Opened the season at the Paul Short Invitational where she placed 7th individually to lead the team to a 2nd place finish overall among 47 teams. At the Pre-NCAA meet Koons placed 14th individually, right behind teammate Bogdana Mimic to help lead the team to an impressive 2nd place finish. Koons continued to improve throughout the season and finished in the runner up position at the Big East Championships. Her best individual finish in a race this season, Koons led the team to win it's 11th Big East Championship.

2006 - A breakout season for Koons. She opened the season with an 18 second win at the Paul Short Invitational. She continued her introduction to elite status with a runner up finish in the White race at the Pre-NCAA meet. Koons next established herself as one of the top cross country runners in Villanova history when she became the 9th Villanova women to win the Big East Championships. Her crowning achievement was being named the Mid-Atlantic Regional athlete of the year after winning the regional championship by an astonishing 29 seconds. This performance qualified her for the NCAA Championships where she placed 87th.
2005- Koons firmly established herself as the number 2 runner on the team. She opened the season with a 4th place finish at the Paul Short Invitational. Next up was the Pre-NCAA meet where she placed 26th and finished right behind fellow teammate Marina Muncan. Koons went on to place 7th in the Big East Championships. She followed that up with a 4th place finish at the Regional meet to help the team qualify for the NCAA Championships. Koons ended the season with a 65th place finish at the NCAA Championships.
2004- A challenging year for Koons. She opened the season with a 14th place finish at the Paul Short Invitational. Next up Koons placed 75th in the White race at the Pre-NCAA meet. Big East followed with a 32nd place performance. Koons was then diagnosed with an iron deficiency and did not participate in the Regional meet.
