VILLANOVA, Pa.— The Villanova Men’s and Women’s swimming and diving teams are set to travel to Princeton, N.J. as they will compete in the Big Al Open. Competition is set to begin on Friday, Dec. 1 and will wrap-up on Saturday, Dec. 3. Prelim sessions will be held in morning as final sessions will begin in the evening. Diving events will continue throughout the weekend.
The Women enter the weekend meet with a 6-1 on the season with their only loss coming against Pitt at the Rutgers Penta Meet. In their most recent meet against Penn, the Wildcats broke two pool records. The first one came from the 200-free relay team consisting of Alexa Fabbri, Milly Routledge, Elise Pidutti, and Taylor Wilson. The other pool record was broken by junior Darby Goodwin in the 200 back with a time of 1:59.86. They defeated Penn with a team score of 181-119.
The Wildcats received strong performances from many of the men student-athletes against Penn. The relay teams were strongest as they saw the 200-free relay team top the podium with a time of 1:26.33. They fell to Penn 186-111.
Other competing schools include, Princeton, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Johns Hopkins, Miami, Rider, Rutgers, and William & Mary.
