Swimming and Diving travels to Philadelphia for final meet of fall season

VILLANOVA, Pa.— On Saturday, the Villanova men’s and women’s swimming and diving teams will travel down the Main Line as they will compete at Penn. The meet is set to begin at Noon.

The women’s team is coming off another strong performance as they topped three out of the four teams that they faced at the Rutgers Penta Meet. BIG EAST Conference Women’s Swimming Athlete of the Week, Alex Fabbri, finished the weekend with a trio of first place finishes and one second place finish.

Men’s swimming and diving showed signs of improvement throughout the two-day meet. Jake continued to produce top five finishes as he tied for fourth in the 50 free and fifth in the 100 fly. Stephen Krecsmar also had a strong showing this past weekend as he cut .14 seconds off his 100-free time.

Michael Perra remained sound on 1-meter dive as he finished third tallying a score of 263.85. For the women, Shannon Daine improved on her score from the Drexel Relays by notching 193.45 points in the 3-meter dive.

Both squads received a strong showing by their relay teams. The men’s and women’s 200 medley relay teams swam to a second-place finish as the women’s 400 freestyle relay team also touched the wall second.
