NEW YORK, N.Y.— The BIG EAST Conference announced their Women’s Swimming and Diving Athlete of the Week on Tuesday per a press release. Junior swimmer Alexa Fabbri was named the Athlete of the Week. This is the first time this season that she has received this honor.
This past weekend at the Rutgers Penta-Meet, Fabbri earned three first place finishes along with one second-place finish. She finished first in the 100 free (51.21), 200 free (1:50.45) and the 50 free (51.21). The second-place finish came in the 100 butterfly where she clocked in at 55.64. Three of her four times rank at the top of BIG EAST so far this season. Her 100-butterfly time is currently ranked second among the BIG EAST.
"Alexa had a great meet. The coaching staff and I were really pleased with both her freestyle and butterfly events. She also had a major impact on how well our relays preformed at Rutgers," Swimming head coach Rick Simpson said.
Next up for Fabbri and the Wildcats is a trip to Philadelphia, Pa. where they take on Penn. The meet is set to begin at Noon on Saturday, Nov. 11.
