VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Swimming and Diving team has introduced Nathan Lavery as the latest member to their staff as announced by Head Coach Rick Simpson Thursday afternoon. This is the third new coach to join the Wildcats since spring.

Lavery comes to Villanova from Houston, Texas where he coached in the club ranks with the West Houston Aquatics Team. He got his coaching start serving as an undergraduate assistant at Texas A&M University, his college alma mater.

Collegiately, Lavery also completed a coaching internship at The University of Arizona and with the Tucson Ford Aquatics Club alongside current USA National Team Director, Frank Busch.

Lavery, a native of South Africa, attended Texas A&M University and earned a bachelor's degree in Psychology. As a member of the Aggie swimming team, Lavery was a three-time NCAA Division I All-American and a four-year Big 12 All-Conference Award winner. He still holds University records at Texas A&M.

Coach Lavery rounds out the staff of assistants that joined the Wildcat program this year, including Casmera Wick and Matt Suits. Lavery will begin his tenure on the Main Line October 8.
