VILLANOVA, PA - On Monday, May 21, Villanova University announced the hiring of Tiffany Sawin as a new assistant coach for the Wildcat men's and women's swimming program. Sawin celebrated her hiring on Saturday, May 19, by qualifying for the U.S. World Swimming Championship Team at the 25K Open Water Nationals in Clemson, S.C.

Sawin, who will officially join the Villanova staff on June 18, is a graduate of Rutgers University and a former athlete of Villanova Head Swimming Coach Rick Simpson.

Sawin's time of 5 hours, 53 minutes earned her a second place finish and a spot on the U.S. Team. She has registered under Villanova Aquatics and will compete under the Villanova name when she competes at the FINA World Swimming Championships in Fukuoka, Japan in July.
