MONTGOMERY, ALA. - On Friday morning, March 21, in day two of the 2003 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships at Aurburn University in Montgomery, Ala., Villanova swimmers Maddy Crippen and Becky Koch competed in the preliminaries of their respective events. Crippen placed 13th in the 400 yard individual medley to advance to the event finals to be held on Friday evening. Koch finished 27th in the 200 yard freestyle and did not advance.

Crippen swam a time of 4:16.41 in the 400 IM in the morning session for her 13th place finish. The top eight in each event advance to the finals, while the next eight move on to the consolation finals. Koch crossed the finish line in 1:48.92 in the 200 free, a time which was not good enough to advance.
