NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships Approach for Koch, Crippen
March 17, 2003 MONTGOMERY, ALA. - On March 20-23, Villanova swimmers Becky Koch and Maddy Crippen will compete at the 2003 NCAA Women's Swimming & Diving Championships at Auburn University's James E. Martin Aquatics Center in Montgomery, Alabama. Koch, the 2003 Big East Most Outstanding Female Swimmer and one of the nation's top up-and-coming distance freestyle swimmers, will compete in the 500 yard freestyle, the 200 yard freestyle and the 1,650 yard freestyle at this year's NCAA Championships. She is seeded sixth overall in the 500 yard freestyle - the fifth fastest American in the event. Koch is also seeded 9th in the 200 yard freestyle and 18th in the 1,650 yard freestyle. Crippen, Villanova's first and only U.S. female swimming Olympian and one of only two Wildcat female swimmers to win NCAA Championships, will compete in her final NCAA Championship this week. She will swim in the 400 yard individual medley (seeded 19th), the 500 yard freestyle (seeded 25th), and the 200 yard breaststroke (seeded 41st). Check below for the 2003 NCAA Champsionship schedule.
