Wildcat Men Keep Swimming Strong at Conference Championships

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. - The Wildcats had another successful day in the pool at the BIG EAST Championships in Indianapolis, Ind. Senior Scott Thiede registered a personal record time in the 500 yard freestyle. Villanova also featured a seventh place relay team. Thiede (Bethesda, Md.) notched a 13th place finish at the conference meet in the 500 yard freestyle with a new personal best time of 4:31.61. Teammate Russell Paulson (West Chester, Pa.) finished 16th in 4:36.60. Villanova swam a 200 yard freestyle relay team featuring Scott Thiede, Jason Moyer (Coopersburg, Pa.), Kyle Grant (Winnetka Ill.) and Braden Clarke (Chappaqua, N.Y.) that earned seventh place with a time of 1:23.48. The Wildcats moved up to seventh place among the other BIG EAST contenders at the end of day two and will continue competition Friday.
