VILLANOVA, Pa. - Due to impending inclement weather, the 2014 BIG EAST Diving Championships, originally scheduled for this Friday-Saturday, will take place just this Saturday, the conference announced this afternoon.
The championship is being held at Villanova, but the expected winter storm will impact the travel of visiting coaches and student-athletes. Georgetown, Providence, Seton Hall and Villanova will compete in the championship.
The women's one-meter and the men's three-meter will kick off the day's festivities at 10 a.m. with preliminary competition. Finals are set for 20 minutes following the end of prelims. After an early-afternoon break, the prelims for the women's three- and the men's one-meter boards will take place at 4 p.m. As with the early session, the finals will take place 20 minutes after the prelims end. In all competitions, the top eight will advance to the finals.
The diving scores will carry forward to the following week when the 2014 BIG EAST Swimming Championships commence at Gloucester County Institute of Technology in Sewell, N.J.
