MONTGOMERY, ALA. - On Friday evening, March 21, on day two of the NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships, Villanova senior Maddy Crippen placed fifth in the consolation finals of the 400 yard individual medley at Auburn's Martin Aquatics Center. After placing 13th in the preliminaries of the event on Friday morning to advance to the consolation finals, Crippen swam a time of 4:15.21 for a fifth place mark to place her 13th overall in the 400 IM event.

On Saturday morning, March 22, Crippen competed in the preliminaries of the 200 yard breaststroke and finished 37th in a time of 2:17.70. That time was not good enough to advance to the next rounds, as the top eight in each event advance to the finals and the next eight to the consolation finals.

Villanova swimmers will wind down the Championships on Saturday night, as junior Becky Koch competed in the finals of the 1,650 freestyle.

The Wildcat team is currently in 30th place with 10 points overall.
