AUSTIN, TEXAS - On Thursday, March 21, at the 2002 NCAA Swimming & Diving Championships in Austin, Texas, Villanova swimmers Maddy Crippen and Rebecca Koch competed in the preliminaries of the 500 yard freestyle.

Koch played 25th in Thursday's prelims with a time of 4:47.83, while Crippen finished 34th with a time of 4:50.40. Neither advanced to finals of the 500 yard freestyle.

On Friday, Crippen will compete in the 400 yard individual medley, whole Koch will swim in the 200 yard freestyle. Each will wind down the 2002 Championships on Saturday, as Crippen swims in the 1,650 yard freestyle and Koch competes in the 100 yard freestyle.
