PISCATAWAY, N.J.-- On Saturday, Feb. 10, a number of Villanova swimmers and divers traveled to Piscatway, N.J., to compete one last time for conference championship berth, at the Big East Last Chance Meet held at Rutgers University. Four Wildcats were successful in their attempts to qualify for the Big East Championships, including seniors Duane Couture and Katie Gannon, sophomore Andrew Harbuck, and freshman James Wolczynski.

Competing in the 100 yard freestyle, Couture swam a time of 46.32 to finish second and qualify for next weekend's conference championships. Gannon qualified in two events on Saturday, winning the 200 yard breaststroke event (2:26.31), and finishing second in the 100 yard breaststroke (1:09.35).

Harbuck, like Gannon, also qualified in multiple events. He earned a second place finish in the 200 yard individual medley (1:52.74), and a fourth place mark in the 100 yard butterfly (51.84). In the 500 yard freestyle for Villanova, Wolcyznski crossed the finish line in 4:38.55 to qualify for the Big East Championships.

The Big East Championships will be held on Feb. 15-17, at Rutgers University.
