The Villanova women’s swimming and diving team won its fourth consecutive BIG EAST title on Saturday evening at the Nassau County Aquatic Center. The Wildcats earned the top spot with 1017 points.
The Villanova swimming and diving program had another strong day on Friday at the BIG EAST Championships, as the Wildcats notched first place performances in four events and broke several school records.
The Villanova swimming and diving program continued its momentum from Wednesday with impressive performances in the finals events on Thursday. The Wildcats broke five school records and took first place in six events.
The Villanova swimming and diving program opened the BIG EAST Championships by setting four school records in the men’s and women’s 800-yard freestyle and 200-yard medley relay events.
The Villanova swimming and diving program will head to the BIG EAST Swimming and Diving Championships presented by Jeep at the Nassau County Aquatic Center in East Meadow, N.Y. from Feb. 22-25.
This past Saturday was an eventful one for the Villanova Swimming and Diving Program, as many activities for current and former members of the team took place throughout day.
The Villanova swimming and diving teams fell to Penn State on Friday afternoon at the Pavilion. The women’s team was defeated by a score of 177-86, and the men’s team lost 186-78.
The Villanova swimming and diving program will close out the regular season this weekend with meets on Friday and Saturday. The Wildcats will square off with Penn State on Friday, Feb. 3 at the Pavilion, before hosting La Salle in the Nova Sprint Festival on Saturday, Feb. 4.
