Dina Dormer begins her sixth season as an assistant coach for the Villanova swimming & diving program in 2007-08.

Dormer came to the Main Line from La Salle University where she served as an assistant coach for four seasons. Her primary duties were working with the distance swimmers. While at La Salle, Dormer also spent two years as a chemistry instructor.

Dormer graduated from La Salle Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Arts in chemistry and biochemistry. During her time at La Salle, Dormer swam for the Explorers and earned a number of honors both in the pool and in the classroom.

She was named an NCAA Academic All-American, a GTE Academic All-District performer, and received Atlantic 10/US Air Academic All-Conference Honors all four years.

Dormer was the first and only female swimmer from La Salle to ever qualify for the NCAA Division I Championships, as she did so in the 500 and 1650 yard freestyles in 1998. Dormer was named to the Atlantic 10 All-Conference Team all four years and was the Atlantic 10 Outstanding Female Swimmer two years in a row.

Dormer currently resides in Havertown, Pa. She recently earned a master of science degree in chemistry here at Villanova and is currently working as an adjunct chemistry instructor.
