Three Villanova Swimmers to Be Added to The Wall of Fame

VILLANOVA, PA - On Saturday, Oct. 4 at 10:45 a.m. in the Villanova Swim Center, Wildcat swimmers Lisa Flood, Richard McDonough and John Geoghegan will take their place on the Villanova Swimming Wall of Honor located in The Pavillion hallway across from the center. These three new members will join ex-Villanova head coach Ed Geisz and swimmers Ed Riley, Don Reed and Matt Mone as the only seven members of the Wall of Honor which began in 1995.

Lisa Flood, a member of the Villanova class of 1995, was a four-time All-American between the years 1991-94. An eight-time Big East Champion, Flood holds the Villanova and Big East Championship meet records in both the 100 and 200 yard breaststroke. She was twice named the Big East Conference Most Outstanding Swimmer (1991 and 1992) and later went on to swim for the Canadian Olympic Team.

Richard McDonough, a member of the class of 1964, was a three-time All-American between 1962-64. In 1963, McDonough won the NCAA Championship in the 200 yard butterfly event.

John Geoghegan, a member of the class of 1964, was an All-American in both 1962 and 1963, in addition to being a multi-year NCAA finalist.
