Big Weekend for Villanova Distance Runners

Four Villanova University men's track & field runners turned in outstanding performances this past weekend at two different meets. Junior Tom Parlapiano (Honeybrook,, Pa.) and sophomore Jason Jabaut (Peru, N.Y.) competed at the Georgia Tech Invitational, while junior Adrian Blincoe (Auckland, New Zealand) and sophomore Ryan Hayden (Richmond, Canada) traveled west to run in the 12th annual Adidas Oregon Track Classic.

At the Georgia Tech Invitational, Parlapiano and Jabaut went one, two in the 1,500 meter run, with Parlapiano earning first place honors with a time of 3:42.69. Jabaut was clocked in 3:43.59. Said Ahmed of the University of Arkansas was third in 3:44.82, while High Point's Taylor Milne tallied a fourth place effort in 3:45.42.

In the Alaska Airlines Men's Mile at the Adidas Oregon Classic, Hayden and Blincoe both ran sub four-minute mile times. Hayden, who placed seventh in the race, was timed in 3:58.27, while Blincoe finished ninth in 3:59.90. David Lelei of Kenya won the race with a clocking of 3:55.49 with Bryan Berryhill of the United States finishing second in 3:55.60.
