Jane Ashton Hawes is a writer, mom and former member of the women's track team. She is probably better remembered at Villanova for her exploits in the classroom than on the track, though she did manage to combine the two endeavors for an Academic All-American award before graduating in 1985.

These days, she lives in Delaware, Ohio, where her husband , Dick (NO Dick and Jane jokes, puh-lease) is a professor of exercise physiology at Ohio Wesleyan University and head coach of the men's and women's swim teams. Their children, Emma (born in 1993) and Colin (born in 1998), keep them hopping.

Jane is a regular correspondent for the Columbus Dispatch and has been published in magazines like Runner's World, Business First, Troika, Satire, Writing Self, and the Ohio State University Magazine.
