O'Brien Places Seventh in 400m Hurdles at NCAA Outdoor Championships

SACRAMENTO, CALIF. - In day three of the 2003 NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on Friday, June 13th, in Sacramento, Calif., Villanova senior Nic O'Brien finished seventh in the finals of the men's 400m hurdles.

O'Brien ran a time of 50.55 in Friday night's finals of the 400m hurdles, good enough for a seventh place finish. Dean Griffiths of Auburn won the event with a time of 48.44.

O'Brien advanced to the finals with a 49.92 time in the semifinals of the event on Thursday. In the semis of the men's 400m hurdles, O'Brien was fourth in heat two with a time of 49.92. The top two in each heat advance to the finals along with the next six fastest times, among which was O'Brien.
