Villanova Men and Women's Track Teams Compete at Sea Ray and USTCA Invitationals

On the weekend of April 11th though the 13th the Men and Women's Track and Field teams competed in two meets. The men and women both competed in Knoxville, Tennessee at the Sea Ray Invitational, while the men competed in the USTCA Invitational at Nittany Track in State College, Pa.
Villanova placed a number of competitors in the Sea Ray Invitational this past weekend. The Wildcat women had some notable performances including a first place finish in the 1500 meter run by Marina Muncan with a time of 4:23.82. Kristy Smith placed third in the 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 10:55.01. On the men's side Nic 0'Brien took third in the 400 meter hurdles with a time of 50.55, while Ryan Hayden grabbed a second place finish in the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:43.53.
At the USTCA in State College, the men had a good day placing some respectable times and distances. Some notables were Aaron Smith placing sixth in the 100 meter dash with a time of 11.04 and Dan Marzluff grabbing a bronze medal in the 800 meter run with a time of 1:54.50, Tom Parlapiano finished second in the 1500 meter run with a time of 3:52.31 and Jonathan Fasulo took home the gold in the 3000 meter run with a blazing time of 8:23.52. In the field events Patrick Moore and Joe Straub placed sixth and seventh respectively in the shot put.
Both men and women's track and field will compete this weekend at the Widener Invitational.
