Cheer Tryouts

Jump to: Mascot Tryouts

There are two opportunities throughout the year to try out: once at the beginning of the school year and again at the end of the spring semester. The Spring tryout date is April 21. Registration will begin at 3PM in St. Mary's Gym on campus.

Prior to tryouts, potential new members are encouraged (but not required) to attend open practices held by the team. Open practices are only for students currently attending Villanova. However, any current student or incoming freshman (with proof of acceptance) is eligible to attend tryout. Tryout attire should consist of athletic clothing (Villanova t-shirts and tank tops or solid white or navy t-shirts or tank tops and shorts) with cheerleading shoes or sneakers. Absolutely no jewelry should be worn at any time. The judging panel will consist of our current coaching staff. Participants are scored based on tumbling and stunting skill, cheer and fight song performance, attitude and their interview with the coaches. Tryout results will be emailed out by the coaches during the week following tryouts.
