Why give to the V Club?
Villanova Athletics is a member of the National Collegiate Athletic Association in Division I. With membership and an increase of demands placed upon our student-athletes, there is a continuous rise of expenses. To provide the resources our student-athletes need to excel in the classroom, and stay competitive on a national level, we need to supplement our 24 sports with outside funding.
Can anyone join the V Club?
YES! Anyone can join. Alumni, parents and friends of Villanova Athletics are encouraged to contribute. The V Club giving levels accommodate everyone's personal and corporate giving ability.
Where does the money go?
ALL money raised by the V Club goes to directly benefit Villanova student-athletes through scholarships, facilities and support services. Athletic scholarships at Villanova University require 7.75 million dollars annually.
How many athletes participate at Villanova University?
There are over 550 student-athletes that participate on 24 varsity teams at Villanova University. All of these athletes directly benefit from the support of V Club members every year.
How many athletes receive scholarships?
Approximately 187 student-athletes receive athletic scholarships each year.
Are there other ways to give to the V Club?
Yes. In addition to annual gifts of cash and gifts-in-kind individuals can give a gift of securities or establish trusts, bequests and endowments. Please call 1-877-434-1500 if you have any questions on how you can help support student-athletes at Villanova through a gift to the V Club.
Is my gift tax deductible?
Your gift is fully tax deductible to the extent allowed by law.
Can I support a specific program with my V Club gift?
Yes. While we urge general V Club Annual Fund support, some alumni, friends, and former athletes choose to designate their gift to a specific program. A gift may be made to the V Club Annual Fund while also earmarking a percentage of the donation to a specific team or program.
I already give to the annual fund. How is this different?
The V Club Annual Fund is run in conjunction with the University's Annual Fund. However, all gifts to the V Club go directly to the Athletic Department or intercollegiate athletic program of your choice.
