Position: Summer Internship - Marketing & Promotions Assistant
Hours: Flexible Must be willing to work some nights and weekends.
Start Date: May 15, 2018
End Date: July 31, 2018
Pay: Unpaid

Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree or currently enrolled in a 4-year university
  • Willingness to learn
  • Exceptional customer service skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Passion for sports and marketing
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Team-oriented and must be willing to work irregular hours

Preferred:

  • Sports marketing experience at either the professional or collegiate level
  • Experience using Graphic Design Programs (Photoshop; Illustrator; Publisher; Premiere)
  • Social Media Management

Job Description:

  • Assist in the planning of fall sports marketing plans (football, volleyball, field hockey, men's and women's soccer)
  • Schedule game day elements for fall sports that include but are not limited to anthem performers, halftime and time out performers, and color guard
  • Create and facilitate a digital marketing plan including development of email databases and social media graphics
  • Responsible for local and campus marketing efforts to promote sporting events including Villanova Reunion weekend (June 2)
  • Responsible for grassroots marketing efforts with corporate sponsors and within the local community (distribution and creation of marketing collateral including posters, schedules, etc.).
  • Oversee the Cat Pack Kids Club including garnering members and streamlining the process
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned by the Assistant AD for Marketing including organization of marketing promotional items
  • Adhere to NCAA, BIG EAST Conference and Villanova University compliance rules

Position: Fall/Spring Internship - Marketing & Promotions Assistant
Hours: 35 hours per week. Must be willing to work some nights and weekends.
Start Date: August 1, 2018
End Date: May 31, 2019
Pay: $1,400 per month; no benefits

  • Assist with game day operational responsibilities at all football, men's basketball, women's basketball and other assigned games
  • Create and facilitate a digital marketing plan including development of email databases and social media graphics
  • Responsible for campus marketing efforts to promote sporting events
  • Responsible for grassroots marketing efforts with corporate sponsors and within the local community (distribution and creation of marketing collateral including posters, schedules, etc.).
  • Oversee the Cat Pack Kids Club including garnering members and streamlining the process
  • Oversee and schedule the game day student volunteer program
  • Other administrative tasks as assigned by the Assistant Athletic Director for Marketing
  • Adhere to NCAA, BIG EAST Conference and Villanova University compliance rules

Position: Fall Semester Internship - Marketing & Promotions Assistant

End Date: Week of December 10, 2018
Pay: Unpaid/For Credit

  • Passion for sports and marketing
  • Ability to multi-task and work under pressure
  • Team-oriented and must be willing to work irregular hours

Available Positions:

Events

  • Assist in the planning and execution of select events including team banquets, youth days, community days, etc.
  • Assist in the growth strategy of the Cat Pack program (Official Youth Fan Group of Villanova Athletics) and responsible for executing select Cat Pack events
  • Responsible for managing game day promotions and presentation for select sports

Grassroots

  • Assist in the creation of a grassroots marketing strategy for various sports and athletics events
  • Responsible for identifying new target markets and/or recommending ways to reach existing targets
  • Responsible for execution of grassroots marketing within the local community (distribution and creation of marketing collateral including posters, schedules, etc.).

Social Media

  • Assist with creation of social media graphics
  • Create databases
  • Create and manage social media calendars for select sports

Student Attendance

  • Assist in the launch of The Official Student Fan Group of Villanova Athletics including branding, meetings, communication and events
  • Assist in creating a strategy to increase student attendance at select sporting events by using the Nova Athletics Student Tickets App and other strategies
  • Responsible for execution of student on-campus marketing including A-frame signage, posters, digital signage, etc.
