Kerri Gavin is an employee of NovaCare Rehabilitation contracted to Villanova University. She begins her second year as assistant athletic trainer, working primarily with the Villanova men's soccer team. She also serves as a mentor to graduate assistant/intern athletic trainers, as well as a preceptor for Neumann University and Eastern University.
Gavin spent a year as an intern with Villanova Sports Medicine in 2011-2012. Her primary sport responsibilities were field hockey and women's lacrosse. Prior to her time at Villanova, she worked as a graduate assistant athletic trainer at Windham High School in Connecticut.
Kerri is currently a member of the National Athletic Trainers' Association (NATA). She was recently published in the Nov/Dec 2012 issue of Journal of Athletic Training for a study titled "Undergraduate Athletic Training Students' Influences on Career Decisions After Graduation." She is also a co-author on another manuscript, "Perceptions of Female Athletic Training Students on Motherhood in the Division I Clinical Setting", that was accepted for publication in JAT. She has presented both manuscripts at national conventions. Gavin graduated from East Stroudsburg University in 2009 with a degree in athletic training. Kerri received a Master's degree in exercise science/kinesiology from the University of Connecticut in 2011. She is originally from Conshohocken, but currently resides in Bridgeport, Pennsylvania.
