Villanova Athletic Fund Launches WildcatPrideChallenge.com
Nov. 22, 2011
VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Athletic Fund (VAF) is proud to announce the launch of WildcatPrideChallenge.com, a website devoted to the annual giving competition for former student-athletes.
WildcatPrideChallenge.com provides viewers with information on the competition, including video solicitations from Villanova head coaches and monthly standings.
The VAF is a broad-based giving program that supports the visions, priorities and needs of our Athletic Director, Head Coaches and athletic programs. It is an integral part of the University Advancement program and the University's overall fundraising efforts to support The Villanova Strategic Plan. Through the VAF, the Wildcat Pride Challenge aims to increase alumni participation for all 24 varsity programs with a goal of 23 percent alumni giving this year for every program. "The new website is a great medium for us to convey our message and engage our former student-athletes," said George R. Kolb '84 VSB, Assistant Vice President for Athletics Development. "Last year's Challenge led to some spirited competition among every sports alumni base and we hope this year the new WildcatPrideChallenge.com will add to the pride and passion our former student-athletes have."
The Wildcat Pride Challenge is a giving challenge program for former student-athletes. In the Challenge all Villanova varsity programs will compete against each other, starting with a minimum gift of $50 ($25 for young alumni: 2007-11) received from June 1 through May 31 of each fiscal year. The Wildcat Pride Challenge produces two winners. The programs with the highest alumni participation rate and the highest percentage increase in number of donors from the previous fiscal year. The winners in each of these categories will receive a $10,000 gift to their programs from anonymous donors to Villanova Athletics
