Villanova Alumni Association Names Harold Jensen Recipient Of 2008 St. Thomas of Villanova Alumni Medal

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova University Alumni Association has selected Harold Jensen to receive its highest honor, the 2008 St. Thomas of Villanova Alumni Medal. Jensen, a 1987 graduate of the University and a resident of Wayne, Pa., is Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sparks Marketing Group, Inc. He has served as a member of Villanova University's Alumni Association Board of Directors and was president of the Alumni Association from 2003-2005. Jensen was also a member of the 1985 men's basketball team, which won the NCAA National Championship.
Villanova University's Alumni Association awards the St. Thomas of Villanova Alumni Medal to alumni who best symbolize the spirit and legacy of St. Thomas; have achieved a level of distinction within their chosen fields or professions; and have brought extraordinary benefit to the University and to their communities. The medal will be awarded to Jensen at an Oct. 23 dinner at the University which kicks off Villanova's Homecoming festivities.
"Harold Jensen continues to demonstrate a remarkable commitment to Villanova University," said the Rev. Peter M. Donohue, O.S.A., Villanova University President. "He left his mark on Villanova as a student-athlete and remains actively involved with the University and its Alumni Association today. Harold is most deserving of the St. Thomas of Villanova Alumni Medal."
A 1987 graduate of Villanova's School of Business, Jensen currently serves as Executive Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Sparks Marketing Group, Inc., a global event marketing and custom retail fixture agency. He has more than 20 years of experience in leadership roles in sales and marketing management, business growth, and event marketing. Jensen has been recognized in numerous publications, including The Wall Street Journal, Entrepreneur, Philadelphia Business Journal and Sports Illustrated for both his professional and athletic achievements. In 1989, he co-founded Showtime Enterprises where he served as Executive Vice President. Showtime Enterprises, a company that specialized in the design, marketing and production of trade show exhibits, point-of-purchase displays, museums and premium incentive programs, was purchased by Sparks Marketing Group, Inc., in 2005.
A member of the Villanova men's basketball team from 1983-87, Jensen helped the Wildcats to victory in the 1985 NCAA National Championship netting 14 points in a 66-64 win over Georgetown. He went on to earn an All-BIG EAST Second Team distinction as a senior and finished his career with 1,155 points. More recently, Jensen served as a member of the Villanova University Alumni Association Board from 2000-06 and was president of the Alumni Association from 2003-05.
