Student-Athlete Advisory Committee to Host Thanksgiving Food Drive

Event Will Take Place During Homecoming Week, Oct. 19-24

Villanova SAAC will host their annual Thanksgiving Food Drive during Homecoming Week

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova Athletic Department's Student-Athlete Advisory Committee (SAAC) will be hosting their annual food drive during Homecoming Week, taking place Oct. 19th through the 24th.

Beginning on Oct. 19th, donations will be taken in the lobby of Jake Nevin Field House and will continue throughout the duration of Homecoming week. All contributions will be given to Philabundance, the region's largest hunger relief organization in the Delaware Valley, in time for the Thanksgiving holiday.

Canned items will also be taken during the Homecoming football game when the Villanova Wildcats (6-1, 3-1 CAA) take on Rhode Island Rams (1-5, 0-3 CAA). SAAC representatives will be stationed at the student and general public entrances to collect donations prior and during the duration of the contest.

In addition to the game, SAAC will also be collecting food donations at the Homecoming Picnic located on Sheehan Beach.

Current priority items include canned tuna, canned beef stew, canned chili and pasta, as well as creamy peanut butter and jelly in plastic containers.
