Villanova Named Host for 2013 BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship

PROVIDENCE, R.I. - Villanova University will once again serve as the host for the BIG EAST Men's Lacrosse Championship on May 2nd and 4th, 2013, as announced by the conference office on Wednesday afternoon. The Championship, in its second year, will return to the site of the inaugural tournament which was also hosted by Villanova in 2012.
The conference also named Georgetown University the host for the 2013 BIG EAST Women's Lacrosse Championship. Georgetown previously hosted the event in 2009 and 2011.
Both the men's and women's championships are a four-team single-elimination tournament held over three days. The top four teams according to the Conference game winning percentage in the regular season standings are selected and seeded.
The semifinals for both events will be held on May 2nd while the championship games are slated for May 4. Game times will be determined at a later date. The men's champion will advance with an automatic berth to the 16-team NCAA Division I Men's Lacrosse Championship, which will be held May 25-27th at Lincoln Financial Field in Philadelphia, Pa.
