VILLANOVA, Pa.--Fans of the Wildcats are now closer than ever to following their favorite Villanova teams as the university announced today the launch of the official Villanova Athletics Facebook page, YouTube page and Twitter account. The Athletics Department will use these social networking sites as platforms for giving fans unprecedented real-time access to official content, including breaking news and other features.
The Facebook page will feature content from the official online home of Villanova athletics - www.villanova.com - in addition to exclusive content that cannot be found anywhere else. Breaking news, photos and online chats are just some of the features that are included on Facebook.
Visiting the Facebook page is as easy as typing "Villanova Athletics" into a Facebook search. Fans will be brought to the Villanova "wall" - which will feature updated news daily and other items. To navigate to additional content, use the tabs located at the top of the page. The "RSS/Blog" will feature all content posted on Villanova.com, while the "Photos" and "YouTube" tabs will feature exclusive pictures and videos.
Facebook is a social utility that connects people with friends and others who work, study and live around them. Millions of people use Facebook everyday to keep up with friends, upload an unlimited number of photos, share links and video, and learn more about the people they meet.
The Villanova YouTube page will give fans the opportunity to have greater access to video features that aren't used on Nova Nation All-Access. The videos will include behind the scenes footage, press conferences and much more.
Villanova will also release breaking news related to a particular sport or athletic department announcements via short messages called "tweets" from its Twitter account.
Twitter is a service for friends, family, and co-workers to communicate and stay connected through the exchange of quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing?
All of the new official social networking sites can be accessed from the Villanova Athletics website at www.villanova.com. On the main page you will notice new tabs on the right hand side above the online store. Simply click on the link you want and it will bring you directly to the page.
