LONDON - Monday was a busy day at the London Olympics for Villanova, with Andrew Sullivan and the Great Britain men's basketball team playing the final game of Group B play versus China while former women's track & field runner Marina Muncan competed for Serbia in the first round of the 1500 meters.
Although Great Britain did not advance out of group play in men's basketball the team picked up its lone win on Monday with a 90-58 victory over China. Sullivan had his best game in the Olympics against China and contributed 11 points, five rebounds, three assists and a steal in 23 minutes on the floor. He hit on 4-of-6 from the field, made 2-of-3 three-pointers and was 1-of-2 at the foul line in the winning effort.
Great Britain jumped out to a 27-15 lead at the end of the first quarter and comfortably pulled away throughout the rest of the contest before settling on the final margin. (Sullivan Olympics Photo Gallery )
