VILLANOVA, Pa. - The Villanova men's and women's basketball teams hosted the annual "Summer Jam" carnival today at the Pavilion. The day included an alumni golf outing followed by games, food, prizes and more in the afternoon. A kids-only press conference was a highlight and the evening featured the annual Villanova Legends game with former men's basketball players. Players and coaches from both teams were on hand to participate in the festivities.

Following the conclusion of the carnival was the Legends game, which this year switched to one single game for all alumni. The first and third quarters of the game featured competition between Wildcat basketball legends, while the second and fourth quarters of the contest featured a "Pros" game between recent former players.

When all was said and done the Blue team came away with a 70-68 victory in another classic close Alumni contest. Tom Grace made four three-pointers to pace the Blue team and Jason Fraser scored eight points and had seven rebounds as the squad rallied from a big halftime deficit to hold on for the win in the fourth quarter.

Larry Herron had a trio of three-pointers while Mike Nardi and John Celestand made two triples apiece for the White team. Celestand led all scorers with 16 points. Jason Lawson had 11 points, including two thunderous slam dunks, and John Pinone added 10 points.

During the kids-only press conference held prior to the start of the Alumni game, men's players Dwayne Anderson and Scottie Reynolds in addition to women's basketball player Siobhan O'Connor took questions from many of the younger fans in attendance.

Head coaches Jay Wright of the men's basketball team and Harry Perretta of the women's basketball team were on hand to mingle with and greet fans at the event.
