Villanova Student-Athletes Boast 3.065 GPA For 2006-07 Academic Year
June 28, 2007 VILLANOVA, Pa. - With the close of the 2007 spring semester, the Villanova University student-athletes completed the 2006-07 academic year with a cumulative grade point average of 3.065. This year's GPA breakdown consists of 15 teams above the 3.0 mark, with 324 student-athletes earning a 3.0 or higher and 116 student-athletes boasting a 3.5 or above. This year's 2007 spring semester alone demonstrated the hard work the Villanova student-athletes put into the classroom as they collectively produced a 3.059. This marks the seventh consecutive semester that the GPA has been over 3.0. Furthermore, 10 Wildcats excelled above and beyond to post a 4.0 GPA. Villanova takes pride and honors each and every student-athletes' hard work both on the field and in the classroom. As a result, this year's Nnenna Lynch Award recipient is the women's basketball team. The team managed to obtain to a 3.435 GPA, which is the highest among the university's programs. The softball team also garnered recognition with the Dr. Dan Regan Award for posting the most improved GPA from the last academic year. |
