VILLANOVA, Pa. - Villanova University equipment manager Tom Dunphy has been named the Region II Equipment Manager of the Year. Dunphy will be presented the award at the AEMA national convention to be held in Jacksonville, Fla., from June 8-11.

Dunphy was part of a creative team that implemented a brand marketing initiative for all Villanova Athletic teams to align all University logos and licensing trademarks. He also had a journal article titled, "Shoulder Pad Evolution," published in 2007.

Dunphy is set to begin his eighth football season at Villanova in 2009. He came to Villanova from Northeastern University where he was the head equipment manager from 2000-02. Dunphy is a 2000 graduate of Northeastern University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Studies. He was also a fullback on the Northeastern football team.

In 2006, Dunphy earned a Masters Degree in Public Administration from Villanova. Dunphy and his wife, Kelly, reside in King of Prussia, Pa.
