950 ESPN and Villanova Extend Agreement Through 2011-12
May 29, 2009 VILLANOVA, PA - The Villanova ISP Sports Network and 950 ESPN (WPEN-AM) have extended their partnership through 2012, it was announced today by the university, radio station and ISP, the multimedia rights holder for Wildcat Athletics. The renewal extends a relationship that began in 2006. 950 ESPN has been home to Villanova men's basketball and football over the course of the past three seasons. "We are delighted with the renewal of our agreement with 950 ESPN," stated Villanova director of athletics Vince Nicastro. "It is so important that we have a consistent and loyal radio partner that values our programming. This is a very positive announcement for Villanova Athletics." The station will continue to carry all Villanova men's basketball and football play-by-play action, as well as weekly call-in shows featuring head coaches Jay Wright and Andy Talley during their respective seasons. "950 ESPN is excited to continue as the flagship station for Villanova basketball and football," John Fullam, station Vice President and Market Manager, says. "We strive to bring our listeners the best in local and national sports, and the Wildcats fit our programming extremely well."
