Villanova Set to Host 2013 NCAA Division I Women's Lacrosse Championship

VILLANOVA, Pa. - The championship bracket has been set and Villanova University is ready to host the 2013 NCAA Women's Lacrosse Championship this week at Villanova Stadium. Villanova has been tabbed to host the prestigious event and will welcome Maryland, Syracuse, North Carolina and Northwestern to the Main Line for the semifinals and championship games on Friday, May 24th and Sunday, May 26th.

Game times are slated for 5 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. on Friday, May 24th while the Championship contest will be played at 8 p.m. on Sunday, May 26th. The semifinal contests will be aired live on ESPN3 while the championship match will be carried live on ESPNU on Sunday evening.

Tickets for the event can be purchased here and are available for either single-game tickets or an all-session pass.

No. 1 seeded Maryland posted a 14-9 victory over ACC rival Duke in the quarterfinals on Saturday, May 18th in College Park, Md. to earn the right to play for an NCAA title. The Terps continued their undefeated season with the victory and are now 21-0 overall in 2013. They'll face Syracuse at 7:30 p.m. in Villanova Stadium on Friday, May 24th.

No. 2 seeded Northwestern punched their ticket to Villanova by defeating No. 7 Penn State 15-7 on Saturday, May 18th in Evanston, Ill. in the quarterfinals. The `Cats improved to 19-2 overall with the victory and will face North Carolina at 5 p.m. in Villanova Stadium on Friday, May 24th.

No. 3 seeded North Carolina defeated unseeded Virginia 13-9 in Chapel Hill, N.C. to make their way to the NCAA semifinal matchup. The Tar Heels improved to 16-3 with the win and will face Northwestern at 5 p.m. in Villanova Stadium on Friday, May 24th.

No. 4 seeded Syracuse punched their ticket to the Final Four with a 13-9 victory over Florida in Syracuse, N.Y. on Saturday, May 18th. With the win, Syracuse improved to 18-3 overall. The Orange will make their second straight appearance in the national semifinals and will face top-seeded and undefeated Maryland on Friday, May 24th.
