Villanova Student-Athlete Of The Week
Jan. 13, 2003
Villanova Athletics is proud to present the Villanova P.A.W.S program: Providing Athletes With Support. The P.A.W.S. program helps to ensure the best quality experience for Villanova student-athletes, both in the classroom and on the playing fields. Wildcat student-athletes represent the best in athletic and academic achievements, and Villanova is proud to recognize these student leaders.
This week's P.A.W.S. honors go to the Wildcat's Derrick Snowden, a junior men's basketball standout from Baltimore, Md. and Archbishop Spalding High School. Derrick did it all for Villanova on Saturday, Jan. 11, in an 81-67 win over the Providence Friars. Snowden shot three-of-six from the field and six-of-10 from the foul line for 12 points, as he was one of six `Cats in double-figures. Snowden filled up the boxscore posting five rebounds, four assists and three steals in 34 minutes. Derrick is one of the key offensive and defensive catalysts for the 9-5 Wildcats, recording nearly eight points, five assists and three rebounds per contest.
We congratulate Derrick on his achievements, and proudly support the Villanova P.A.W.S. program. For additional information regarding P.A.W.S., contact Villanova University at (610) 519-4605.
