Beermann Drives in Three Runs as Wildcats Hold Off North Dakota State, 6-4
Junior first baseman Max Beermann (Tampa, Fla.) doubled twice and drove in three runs, including the go-ahead runs in the bottom of the fifth inning, and Villanova (3-6) tallied a 6-4 win over North Dakota State (1-8) at South County Park on Sunday afternoon. Beermann extended his hitting streak to nine games and the Wildcats drew nine walks on a good offensive day at the plate. It was an equally good outing in the field and on the mound as Villanova turned four double plays and forced the Bison into leaving 13 runners on base.
Water Polo Completes Successful Weekend at Cal Lutheran Invitational
In the third and final day the Wildcats grabbed their eighth victory of the season and have now won eight of their last nine games. Villanova won games over Chapman 9-5. Overall in the Cal Lutheran Invitational the Wildcats were 4-1.
Georgia State Edges Out Villanova
In the fourth and final game of the USF Under Armour Invitational, Villanova lost to Georgia Sate by a score of 5-2. Lauren Herschberg continued her hot start with her 13th hit of the season and added another RBI to her season totals. Ali Angelbello was on the mound for the Wildcats and Katie Worley was the pitcher for the Panthers.
Men's Tennis Postponed
Due to rain Sunday morning, the Villanova men's tennis team has postponed its match against UC Riverside. The Wildcats will now face the Highlanders on Tuesday, Mar. 3, with a 12 pm start.
Herschberg's Three Hits Help Wildcats Defeat Flames
The Wildcats had to wait a little longer for a win but they won in their first of two games on Sunday. After both of Saturday's originally scheduled games were washed out the Wildcats defeated the Flames 3-1 this morning. The team benefited from strong performances from Kate Poppe and Dana Morris. The win bring the Wildcats record to 3-5 and the Flames drop to 6-6. All runs driven in in the contest came from freshmen; Dana Morris and Brittany Husk.
Wildcats Find First Victory of 2015 in front of Home Crowd
The Villanova women's lacrosse team (1-2) clinched their first win of the 2015 campaign after defeating Bucknell 11-9 on a sunny Saturday afternoon at Villanova Stadium. The Wildcats fought off a Bison offense that was determined to make a comeback after the Wildcats sent them into the locker room at halftime under a 5-2 deficit.

Villanova trailed Xavier 40-33 at halftime before staging a second half turnaround en route to its second straight outright BIG EAST regular season title.
Tiernan, Maxwell and Distance Medley Relay Repeat as Conference Champions
The first night of competition in the BIG EAST Championships at the New York Armory looked very similar to what a highlight reel from last year's opening day would look like. Villanova successfully defended its conference titles in three different events and scored 48.5 points as the BIG EAST meet got underway on Saturday night.
