Max Beermann Earns BIG EAST and Big Five Weekly Honors
Junior first baseman Max Beermann (Tampa, Fla.) earned weekly award recognition from both the BIG EAST and the Big Five in announcements made early this week. Beermann was chosen for the weekly BIG EAST Honor Roll and was also voted the Big Five Player of the Week for his efforts in three games over the weekend. This is the second straight week that Villanova has garnered both conference and local awards.
Curran Named BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week
Villanova junior midfielder Jack Curran has been named the BIG EAST Offensive Player of the Week, as announced by the conference office Monday afternoon. Graduate Student Remington Pope has also been named to the Weekly Honor Roll for the second straight week.
A special edition of "Talking Villanova Basketball" set for Thursday
A special "Talking Villanova Basketball with Jay Wright" show will air Thursday from J.D. McGillicuddy's in Wayne, Pa.

It's a BIG EAST double header on Tuesday night as Butler hosts Georgetown and JayVaughn Pinkston and the Wildcats travel to Omaha to take on the Creighton Bluejays.
Men's Golf Opens Spring in Florida, Leads FAU After Round One
The Villanova men's golf team opened play on Monday afternoon at the South Course of The Fountains Country Club in Lake Worth, Fla. as the Wildcats hosted the Florida Atlantic Owls. Villanova (299) currently leads FAU (300) by one stroke after round one.
Poppe and Herschberg earn BIG EAST Honors
Kate Poppe and Lauren Herschberg have both been honored by the BIG EAST for their performances this past weekend in the USF Under Armour Invitational, the conference office announced Monday.
Wildcats Defeated 10-2 By Boston College
In a game that had been close from the start, Villanova (3-7) allowed seven runs with two outs in the bottom of the eighth inning and fell to Boston College (5-6) by a 10-2 count at North Charlotte Regional Park on Monday afternoon. In the top half of that same inning, the Wildcats had plated a run to pull to within 3-2 before the Eagles put the game out of reach with their seven-run outburst. Both teams were playing their fourth game in as many days.
Villanova Earns No. 3 Seed in the BIG EAST Tournament
The Villanova Wildcats finished the regular season with an 18-12 overall record and a 12-6 Big East mark which was good enough for a third place in the final Big East standings.
