Rosero Starts Strong But Wildcats Fall to Norfolk State, 11-3
Sophomore starting pitcher Jonathan Rosero (Middle Village, N.Y.) gave up just one earned run while striking out six over 4 1/3 innings but Villanova (0-3) fell behind in the sixth inning and came out on the short end of an 11-3 final score against Norfolk State (3-0) in the finale of a three-game series at Marty L. Miller Field on Sunday afternoon. Senior right fielder Donovan May (Newark, Del.) drove in a pair of runs for the Wildcats, while junior catcher Brandon Campos (Middletown, N.Y.) was on base twice with a walk and his second triple of the young season.

The Villanova softball team closed the EMU Maderia Beach Invitational with an 8-3 win over UAB on Sunday morning. The Wildcats are now 3-2 on the year.
Wildcats Fall 16-11 to #8 Yale
Villanova was led by Christian Cuccinello who tied his career high with four goals while adding two assists for a team high six points on the day. Jake Froccaro and Danny Seibel added four points each while Devin McNamara had three of his own. The four Wildcats combined for nine goals and seven assists.

Throughout their four-year careers, this group of seniors has tallied three 20-win seasons, won 80 games, participated in three WNIT Tournaments, captured three Big Five titles and three in-season tournament championships.

Miller Field on Saturday afternoon. Senior right fielder Donovan May (Newark, Del.), sophomore second baseman David Rodgers (West Chester, Pa.) and junior center fielder David Gulati (Collegeville, Pa.) each had two hits apiece.
Big First Inning Lifts Villanova To Win Over Oakland
The Villanova softball team used a six-run first inning to hand the Oakland Golden Grizzlies their first loss of the season on Saturday afternoon by a score of 8-4. Both teams are now 2-1 to begin the year.
